Two Charged Over Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Assault
Two individuals are now facing charges following a luggage theft where a suspected capsaicin spray led to people being hurt at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and charges for administering a noxious substance, according to official statements.
The charges follow an probe of an attack at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their suitcases stolen after getting out of a car park lift, according to law enforcement.
A toddler was among those injured in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to a medical facility and were eventually allowed to go home.
This event – described by police as was isolated and deemed non-terroristic – caused train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
