British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities confirmed on Wednesday night. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on December 29th, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The boxer had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, his management team stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.

Honoring the Deceased

The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the loss of his two close friends.”

The news of his discharge comes as the boxing community offered its support for the star in the following the heartbreaking incident.
