Barça Ready for Historic Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday
The club confirmed they will play at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in La Liga over two years following their departure to allow renovations to start.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.
Stadium Testing
Barcelona held an open training session at the Camp Nou in early November. They mentioned they are seeking authorization from European football’s governing body to host the next European match facing Eintracht in December at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
